About the Project
On March 15-17 2018, XXII Symposium of the Cardiac Rehabilitation and Physiology of Exertion Section of Polish Cardiac Society was held in Jachranka, dedicated primarily to patients with heart failure. The main organizer of the event was Cardiac Rehabilitation and Physiology of Exertion Section itself in cooperation with Cardinal Wyszynski Institute of Cardiology in Warsaw, Social Insurance Institution, Polish Academy of Sciences, National Institute of Public Health - National Institute of Hygiene, The Polish Chamber of Physiotherapists and The Association of Cardiovascular Interventions of Polish Cardiac Society. The directors of the past event were Jadwiga Wolszakiewicz MD, PhD and prof. Ryszard Piotrowicz MD PhD - both from Cardinal Wyszynski Institute of Cardiology.
For three days, over 300 specialists in the field of cardiology, psychology, dietetics and physiotherapy discussed the epidemic of heart failure in Poland, about cardiac hybrid telerehabilitation, as well as about government plans to implement the comprehensive care program for patients with heart failure. During the special sessions in which prominent experts took part (including: prof. Piotr Ponikowski, prof. Ryszard Piotrowicz, prof. Adam Witkowski, prof. Robert Gil, prof. Dariusz Dudek, prof. Grzegorz Opolski, prof. Jadwiga Nessler and representatives of the administration, e.g. Roman Topór-Mądry PhD, the president of the Agency for Health Technology Assessment and Tariff Systems), summarized the current situation after the implementation of the KOS-infarction program and considered the possibilities of its further financing. During the workshops, specialists discussed, among others about ergospirometry and its usefulness in rehabilitation and hybrid telerehabilitation.
