About the Project

On April 10-12, the 23rd edition of Warsaw Course on Cardiovascular Interventions was held, accompanied by the first edition of the WAR-CTO Symposium.

This year’s WCCI themes were coronary revascularization, the second revolves around structural heart diseases and valvular heart disease and peripheral artery disease. One of the most important aspects of our event were also two policy sessions (Family hypercholesterolaemia - is the current reimbursement optimal? and Acute ischemic stroke therapy program - summaries of the first months) with experts in cardiology, neurology, lipidology or health care management, as well as representatives of the Polish decision- making institutions. The traditional point of the workshops were live cases from centers in Warsaw, Budapest, Brno and Toulouse.

As every year, the WCCI expert committee also awarded the Andreas Prize to honor the outstanding contribution to cardiology in the last twelve months or the overall activity. This time, it was received by two specialists - prof. Tadeusz Przewłocki (John Paul II Hospital in Krakow) and prof. Petr Kala (University Hospital in Brno).
