I Cardiac Patients Congress and Senior Health Day
About the Project
This year, a new, unique event debuted in Krakow - the 1st edition of the Cardiac Patients Congress with the Senior Health Day. A unique initiative organized by IQ (Eleven Zett Productions), the Polska Unia Organizacji Pacjentów “Obywatele dla Zdrowia” (Polish Union of Patients' Organizations "Citizens for Health") and Stowarzyszenie Manko (Manko Association) is the first such congress devoted to people suffering from cardiovascular diseases. Even one and a half thousand patients took part in lectures on, i.a. principles of primary and secondary prevention of cardiological diseases and incidents, meetings with inspiring people, free medical tests or workshops for patient organizations, previously marching in March for Health on the route of two kilometers. The Cardiac Patients Congress was held as a partnership and satellite initiative of the 19th edition of the New Frontiers workshop in Interventional Cardiology. Its first edition was also the biggest European event addressed to this group of patients.
During the congress there was also a policy session entitled "How can social organizations support the healthcare system and patient education?". The discussion was attended by: prof. Paweł Buszman MD PhD FESC (CEO, American Heart of Poland), prof. Dariusz Dudek MD PhD FESC (President-Elect, European Association of Percutaneous Cardiovascular Interventions of the European Cardiac Society), Lidia Ułanowska (Director, Department of Senior Policy, Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy), Łukasz Salwarowski (President, Stowarzyszenie Manko) and Agnieszka Wołczenko (President, Ogólnopolskie Stowarzyszenie Pacjentów ze Schorzeniami Serca i Naczyń "EcoSerce"/Polish Association of Patients with Heart & Vessel Disorders "EcoHeart"). The moderator of the debate was Ewelina Zych-Myłek (CEO, IQ).
Substantive support over the Cardiac Patients Congress was carried out by the Expert Council: prof. Dariusz Dudek MD PhD FESC (President-Elect, European Association of Percutaneous Cardiovascular Interventions of the European Cardiac Society), prof. Paweł Buszman MD PhD FESC (CEO American Heart of Poland), prof. Adam Witkowski (President-Elect, Polish Cardiac Society) and Jerzy Bochyński (President, Institute for Eastern Studies Foundation). The Organizing Committee was: Ewelina Zych-Myłek (CEO, IQ and Expert in Healthcare Communication), Beata Ambroziewicz (President, Polska Unia Organizacji Pacjentów “Obywatele dla Zdrowia”) and Łukasz Salwarowski (President, Stowarzyszenie Manko).
