About the Project

The Health Innovation Forum organised by Microsoft was held from 31 January to 1 February 2017 in the Executive Briefing Centre in Brussels. This year’s forum focused on the digital transformation of health using virtual care and the optimisation of clinical and operational processes in the field of genomics and medical precision.

One of the guests of the event was Professor Dariusz Dudek, Director of the II Clinical Department of Cardiology and Cardiovascular Interventions at the University Hospital in Krakow. His presentation at the conference concerned the use of HoloLens virtual reality glasses in cardiac procedures. HoloLens is a device that uses augmented reality. It shows a continuous image that is projected onto the glasses. This image is an extension of what we see without HoloLens glasses. This allows to further supplement what we see with additional information. A computer in the glasses which is connected to a whole range of sensors can scan, measure, recognise facial features, and create 3D visualisations based on relevant data.
