About the Project

For the fourth time, the Foundation Institute for Eastern Studies organized the European Congress of Local Governments, which took place on April 26-27 in Krakow. This year's Congress was attended by nearly 1,900 guests from 36 countries around the world, including the most important national politicians, local government officials, business representatives and local leaders. This year, Congress held the slogan "Local government as a strategy for the future”.

On the second day of the Congress, there was a panel devoted to health and medicine. The discussion on the digitization and use of modern technologies in the healthcare system in Poland was attended by: Iwona Mazur (Director of the Daily Center for Psychiatry and Disorders Speech for Children and Youth), Tomasz Miś (National Health Fund - Małopolska Voivodeship Branch), Konrad Nędzyński (MedApp SA), Marcin Pasternak (Chairman of the Board, Intercard) and Anna Szczerbak (Vice-Chairman of the Board, Polish Association of Managed Care). The debate was moderated by Mieczysław Pasowicz - Director of the Institute of Innovative Medicine, President of the Polish Association of Hospital Directors. Experts raised such issues as: digitization of patient databases and their safety, in the context of changes in regulations related to the entry into force of the EU Directive on the RODO, use of modern technologies in medicine (HoloLens) or obtaining financing for digitalisation of healthcare facilities.
